Privacy Policy
VRT NWS (package me.vanmechelen.vrtsporza) is a standalone Wear OS app that
shows the latest VRT NWS headlines and live Sporza match scores. This policy
explains what the app does and does not do with your data.
Short version
The app collects no personal data. It has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. Nothing is ever sent to the developer.
What the app accesses
To show you content, the app fetches publicly available information over the internet directly from third-party sources:
- News headlines and articles from VRT NWS (
vrt.be). - Match calendars and live scores from Sporza (
sporza.be).
These requests are made from your device to those services. As with any request to a website, your device’s IP address and standard connection metadata are visible to those services. That data is handled under their own privacy policies, not by this app.
Data stored on your device
To work offline and load quickly, the app caches headlines and articles you have opened in local storage on your watch. This data:
- never leaves your device,
- is not accessible to the developer,
- is removed when you clear the app’s data or uninstall the app.
What the app does not do
- No account, login, name, or email is required or collected.
- No location, contacts, photos, or other device data is accessed.
- No analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs are included.
- No data is sold or shared with anyone.
Children’s privacy
The app is a general news reader and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone.

This is an independent, personal hobby project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with VRT, VRT NWS, or Sporza. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Changes to this policy
If the app’s behavior changes, this page will be updated and the “last updated” date above will change.
